6 AL leaders and activists arrested on charges of attempted sabotage in Durgapur

Police have arrested 6 Awami League leaders and activists on charges of attempted sabotage in Durgapur, Netrokona. The arrested were sent to court on Thursday (November 13) afternoon. Earlier, they were arrested from different areas of the upazila from Wednesday afternoon to late night.
The arrested are - Upazila Jubo League Vice President Mamunur Rashid, Municipal Ward Jubo League President Khokon Mia, Union Ward Jubo League Former General Secretary Babul Mia, Awami League activists Lavlu Mia, Shamim Mia and Shah Alam.
Durgapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mahmudul Hasan said that they were planning to sabotage the central program of the Awami League. A case has been filed against them in this incident and handed over to the court.
The OC also said, "Some isolated incidents have occurred in different parts of the country. However, no untoward incident has taken place in Durgapur so far. There is strict police surveillance all around. I hope that a peaceful environment will remain in Durgapur."
