Signing of five MoUs and three note exchange agreements with Malaysia

Bangladesh and Malaysia signed five memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and three note exchange agreements on Tuesday to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors. Principal Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim were present at the ceremony held at the Malaysian Prime Minister's Office in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur.
Principal Advisor Yunus is currently on a three-day official visit to Malaysia. The agreements signed today are expected to play a role in higher education, diplomatic training, defense cooperation, energy sector, halal ecosystem, research and policy analysis, and trade and commerce.
Three exchange of notes agreements
Cooperation in higher education — signed by Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohammad bin Haji Hassan and Bangladesh's Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Advisor Asif Nazrul.
Cooperation in diplomatic training — signed by Malaysian Foreign Minister and Bangladesh's Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Towhid Hossain.
Cooperation in halal ecosystem — signed by Malaysian Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Dr. Zulkifli bin Hassan and BIDA Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud bin Harun.
Five memorandums of understanding (MOUs)
Defence cooperation — signed by Malaysian Defence Minister Dato' Seri Mohammad Khalid bin Nordin and Bangladesh's Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Towhid Hossain.
Cooperation in LNG and energy infrastructure — signed by Malaysian Acting Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah bin Azizan and Bangladesh's Energy Advisor M. Fauzul Kabir Khan.
Research and policy analysis collaboration — Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) of Malaysia and Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) of Bangladesh.
Cooperation in trade and services — Mimes Services Sdn. Bhd. of Malaysia and Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI).
Chamber of Commerce collaboration — National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCIM) of Malaysia and FBCCI of Bangladesh.
