In addition to the long-standing hostile relations between India and Pakistan, tensions have also become visible in recent times in relations with Bangladesh. Especially, the propaganda and false allegations of some Indian media and groups targeting the Muslim-dominated country Bangladesh have sparked international criticism. Its impact has not been limited to bilateral relations; the issue has spread throughout the Muslim world.
In this context, calls for a boycott against India are gaining strength among the people of various Muslim countries, including Bangladesh. It is known that several campaigns are being run on social media demanding boycott of Indian products and creating diplomatic pressure. According to many, India's behavior and statements towards Muslim countries are the main reason for this reaction.
In continuation of this, major changes are being observed in the visa process of Indian citizens in the United Arab Emirates, an important country in the Middle East. International media reports say that the rate of cancellation of tourist visas for Indians in the country has increased significantly. Whereas earlier the visa approval rate was close to 100 percent, a large portion of applicants are now facing visa denials as a result of the new policy.
The new visa policy will no longer make the process as easy as before for Indians. Along with specific and acceptable information, it has been made mandatory for applicants to submit copies of air tickets. If someone wants to stay at a relative's house, they will also have to provide proper proof, which will be approved after verification.
There have been allegations that Indian tourists and expatriates are facing financial losses as a result of this change. Especially since the United Arab Emirates is one of the largest remittance sources for India, the concerned parties fear that the visa restrictions may also affect the country's economy.
According to analysts, the growing discontent and calls for boycott against India in the Muslim world are putting new pressure on the country in the international arena. India, once known as an influential power in South Asia, is now facing various diplomatic challenges—which observers believe may also have an impact on regional politics in the future.
