The village of Bhabermura, located on the border of Burichang Upazila in Comilla, is now becoming famous throughout the region due to a miraculous tube well. This tube well was installed about two decades ago to solve the water crisis in the village. But surprisingly, it is supplying water continuously day and night without a handle, which is known as a miracle to the locals.
The villagers said that this tube well is not only the main water source for the people of Bhabermura village, but also for five-six villages in the vicinity. Even people from Tripura, India, across the border come here to collect water. Some drink it as drinking water, some use it for ablution, and some drink the water from this tube well out of faith.
Local Kamal Mia said, “Since the Darbar Sharif is here, Milad Mahfil is organized every month and year. Devotees from different upazilas of Comilla come to the shrine. At that time, the facilities for performing ablution or drinking water were very few. Later, after applying to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, this tube well was installed.”
Another local, Harun Mia, said, “Since this tube well is next to the shrine and continuously flows without a handle, devotees consider it a miracle. Many believe that drinking this water cures and fulfills their wishes. This water plays an essential role in agricultural work and during the drought season.”
The water from this tube well is not only meeting the daily needs of the rural people, but also serves as a source of irrigation for agricultural lands. While people in other areas cry for water during the drought season, the farmers of Bhabermura depend on this tube well.
A young man named Sharif, who came from Tripura, India, said, “This is truly a miracle. Water is flowing from the tube well without a handle. Other ponds or canals are very cold in winter, but the water from this tube well is warm. We also take a bath here.”
A local named Mahfuz added, “The water flowing from this tube well is not only for the people, it is also reaching the surrounding agricultural lands. Hundreds of fields are being irrigated with this water, especially during the drought season, so farmers do not face water shortage.”
For the villagers of Bhabermura, this tube well is not just a source of water supply, but a miraculous symbol of life, which inspires people's faith and hope.
