Brazilian club Santos captain and star footballer Neymar Jr. is suffering from mild flu symptoms. Due to this, he could not participate in the team's important training session. Neymar's absence ahead of the prestigious derby match against arch-rivals Corinthians has caused some concern in the Santos camp.
Although the team's players were busy with last-minute tactics and preparations for the match at the Santos training center, Neymar was not seen. However, the club authorities hope that he will recover and return to training with the team before the match. Therefore, no final decision has been made about his participation in the derby for now.
Neymar has been rested on the advice of the club's medical department, taking into account the fact that the injury or illness does not worsen. Santos said that after showing flu symptoms, he was prevented from training on the advice of the health department. His physical condition is being monitored regularly.
Neymar has been a key player in Santos' attack this season. As well as leading the field as captain, he has been a regular contributor to the team with goals and assists. He has scored nine goals in 24 matches in all competitions so far, while also setting up eight more for his teammates.
As a result, Neymar's fitness has become a major concern for Santos ahead of the crucial derby against Corinthians. Whether he can fully recover and return to training ahead of the match is now the main concern for Santos fans.
