Leo Marshon will hit the pool, set an Olympic record and win gold - it's become an unwritten rule at the Paris Olympics. After winning gold in boys' 400m individual medley, 200m breaststroke, 200m butterfly, the 22-year-old French swimmer also won the 200m individual medley sonata today. This is Marshan's fourth gold in the last 6 days!
Marsh clocked 1 minute 54.06 seconds in the 200m individual medley at La Défense Arena in Paris today. He broke the Olympic record of 1 minute 54.23 seconds set by Michael Phelps at the Beijing Olympics.
French President Emmanuel Macron appeared in the gallery today to see the feat of Marches. Besides, there were father and mother of the young swimmer. Interestingly, both of them swam the 200m medley at the Olympics. But never won a medal.
Marcin's mother Celine finished 14th at the 1992 Olympics, while her father Javier finished eighth and seventh in the 200m middle at the 1996 and 2000 Olympics respectively. Even though they could not themselves, they witnessed their children winning gold from the gallery.
At La Défense today, however, Marchon fell behind a bit at the start. However, the 22-year-old swimmer passed everyone before going 50 meters. He finished the rest of the way ahead of everyone. Great Britain's Duncan Scott (1 minute 55.31 seconds) took the silver, 1.25 seconds ahead of Mershon, who set an Olympic record. China's Wang Shan won the bronze with a time of 1 minute 56 seconds.
Scott had to be content with finishing second in Paris after Tokyo. While praising Marchon after the competition, the silver-winning swimmer of Great Britain said, "I remember, I was able to compete with Leo (Marchon) only for a short time in the competition." But he is the world's best swimmer in 200m breaststroke, world's best swimmer in 200m fly. Also best in 200m middle and 400m middle. It is a great honor to be able to fight with him even in such a situation. A large number of visitors attended.
It goes without saying that the support of the majority of the audience went to Marshan, the boy of the house.
