Rashid Khan Joins Exclusive 700-Wicket Club in T20 Cricket

Afghanistan’s leg-spin maestro Rashid Khan has made history by becoming the first bowler in recognized T20 cricket to reach the 700-wicket milestone. Entering the World Cup with 696 wickets, Rashid inched closer to this landmark with crucial dismissals against New Zealand and South Africa, finally achieving it on the big stage.
In Afghanistan’s match against the United Arab Emirates, the Afghan side batted second after losing the toss. Rashid Khan struck in the 16th over, dismissing tail-ender Mohammad Afran, who lost his balance and was bowled. That wicket not only ended Afran’s innings but also marked Rashid’s entry into the 700-wicket club.
With this achievement, Rashid Khan has set a new benchmark in T20 cricket, further solidifying his position as the top wicket-taker in international T20s. Over 115 matches, he has claimed 192 wickets, showcasing his consistency and skill as one of the game’s premier bowlers. This milestone is more than just a personal record—it is a proud moment in Afghanistan’s cricketing history.
