Neymar after the worst defeat of his career: “I am ashamed”

Neymar, who has cried many times due to injury and left the field, had tears in his eyes again. However, this time the reason for crying was not the injury, but the pain of a big defeat. Brazilian star Neymar could not control his emotions after the worst defeat of his career. After the match, he said that he had never experienced such an experience before.
In a match for the Santos club, Vasco da Gama won 6-0 against Neymar and his team. This defeat was recorded as the biggest defeat of Neymar's career. Vasco da Gama's team was also not in a good shape in this Brazilian league. They had 16 points with only 4 wins in 17 matches. Yet that team devastated Santos.
After the match, Neymar said, “I am ashamed. I am completely disappointed with our performance. The fans have every right to protest, but without violence. If they abuse or insult, that is also their right.” He added, "It's a feeling of extreme shame. I've never felt anything like this in my life. The tears came from anger, for everything that happened. I couldn't help in any way. Anyway, the whole thing was really bad, that's the reality."
Neymar's team couldn't build any competition in the match. Santos conceded just one goal in the first half, but Vasco da Gama scored five goals in the second half.
Neymar's previous big defeats were 4-0 goals. He faced such defeats against Barcelona in 2011 for Santos (Club World Cup) and against PSG in Barcelona in 2017 (Champions League). In the 2014 World Cup semi-final, Brazil lost 7-1 to Germany, but Neymar was out with an injury.
Neymar couldn't even stand up for his team in this match. The former Liverpool and Barcelona forward scored two goals for Vasco da Gama, in the 54th and 62nd minutes. The win lifted Vasco da Gama out of the relegation zone. They are now 16th with 19 points from 18 matches. Santos, on the other hand, are 15th with 21 points, having played one more match.
Shortly after Santos' big loss, head coach Cleber Javier was sacked. The club confirmed the sacking in a statement, wishing him well for his future career.
