India's star batsman Virat Kohli was not having a good time with the bat. He had to endure widespread criticism due to his continuous failures. There were even rumors that the board's strict stance and the upcoming Champions Trophy could end his chapter. However, former Indian captain and legend Sourav Ganguly sees the matter differently.
According to Ganguly, "Kohli can still give a lot to cricket."
Kohli had hinted at a return to form by scoring a century in the last Perth Test. But he could not maintain that consistency. Talking about this, Ganguly said,
"Cricketers like Virat Kohli are seen once in a lifetime, like Jhulan Goswami and Mithali Raj. Scoring 80 centuries in international cricket is incredible. In my opinion, he is the best player in the world in white-ball cricket."
Regarding Kohli's batting in Australia after his century in Perth, he further said,
"After his century in Perth, I thought it would be a big series for him. But that's how it is in cricket. Every player has his weaknesses and strengths. The most important thing is how to adapt to those weaknesses."
On Kohli's recent form and retirement issue, Ganguly further added,
"Despite the criticism, I believe Kohli still has a lot to give to cricket."
Such comments from the legendary Ganguly will undoubtedly serve as an inspiration for Kohli.
