There was a change in the ICC ODI rankings after the series loss to Afghanistan on Monday. Along with the series loss to Afghanistan, the Bangladesh cricket team had to get bad news in the ODI rankings after a long time. Nazmul Hossain Shanto's team dropped from 8th to 9th in the rank.
Even though the two teams had 85 points, the Afghans pushed Bangladesh to the eighth position as they were behind by a fraction. Before the start of the series, Bangladesh had 86 points, Afghanistan had 85. Afghanistan closed the gap by winning the series 2-1.
However, recent Afghans are having a good time. They lost to Ireland, South Africa and Bangladesh one by one in Sharjah. Afghanistan, which was 6 points behind in May this year, is now ahead of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh team's favorite format ODI has been going through bad times for quite some time. Since last year's series in Afghanistan, Bangladesh has played 5 ODI series so far, Bangladesh has won only 1 series. The loss is at 4 o'clock. Deterioration in ranking is also expected.
India is at the top of the ODI rankings. Then there are Australia, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, England, Afghanistan, Bangladesh in the series. Test players West Indies and Ireland are below Bangladesh. Zimbabwe, another Test playing nation, is ranked 13 behind Scotland.
