Nicholas Pooran breaks Chris Gayle's world record of sixes

The record of hitting the most sixes in the T20 format in a year was also in the name of Gayle. This time it was missed. Gayle's compatriot and teammate Nicholas Pooran snatched the world record 9 years ago. 2024 is still 4 months away, but Nicholas Pooran has already set the world record for most sixes in T20 this calendar year.
All the franchises around the world have conquered the leagues. Next to the name was the feat of winning two T20 World Cups. Chris Gayle's fire with the bat has left the opponent in the bowling. Such a scene was a regular scene in the last decade and a half. Chris Gayle's record for hitting sixes is next to his name. A very normal phenomenon for the cricket world.
The 28-year-old Caribbean left-hander broke Chris Gayle's 9-year-old world record by hitting 9 sixes for Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL. In 2015, Gayle hit a total of 135 sixes in international and franchise T20. Pooran had 130 sixes before he came down to play for Trinbago. He took the number to 139 in 9 sixes.
Chris Gayle hit 100 sixes in 1 year a total of 6 times in his entire career. Only Andre Russell and Nicholas Pooran hold the feat. And Puran took the world record in the year of hitting 100 sixes for the first time. Even though Gayle played 36 innings for 135 sixes, Puran took 57 innings to overtake him.
In addition to the West Indies national team this year, Nicholas Puran has played T20 for a total of 7 teams. He plays for Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League of his country. Puran also played for Durban Super Giants, Lucknow Super Giants, MI Emirates, MI New York, Northern Superchargers and Rangpur Riders.
