Dipu Moni's husband's funeral and burial after parole decision

The funeral and burial time of her husband, Barrister Taufiq Newaj, will be determined after the decision is made on whether Dipu Moni, the former education minister who is in Munshiganj prison, will be released on parole. Dipu Moni's lawyer and relatives are in Munshiganj to apply for parole.

Dipu Moni is currently in Munshiganj prison. An application is being made to release her on parole to give her the opportunity to attend her husband's funeral.
The lawyer and family members are in Munshiganj to complete the necessary procedures. The place and time of Taufiq Newaj's funeral and burial will be finalized after the decision on parole is received.
However, no final decision has been made on Dipu Moni's parole release so far.
Barrister Taufiq Newaz dies in hospital
Barrister Taufiq Newaz died at a hospital in the capital at around 10:30 pm on Tuesday (August 18). He had been ill for a long time.
Dipu Moni's elder brother JR Wadud Tipu said that Taufiq Newaz died at 10:27 pm. A decision is expected to be made after Wednesday afternoon on where and when his funeral and burial will be held.
Taufiq Newaz had been under treatment for a long time
According to family information, Taufiq Newaz suffered a stroke in 2019. He has been under treatment since then.
He was taken to the court in a wheelchair on May 27. There he met his imprisoned wife Dipu Moni. His relatives brought him to the court.
Taufiq Newaz was a Supreme Court lawyer by profession. After her death, the issue of Dipu Moni's release on parole to attend her husband's funeral has come to the fore.
Family awaiting parole decision
Dipu Moni's lawyers and relatives said that the necessary work related to the parole application is being completed. The family is awaiting the decision of the relevant authorities.
If Dipu Moni is released on parole, she may get the opportunity to attend her husband's funeral and burial. That is why the time of the funeral and burial is not being finalized until the parole decision is made.
