Azad questions government's stance on border killings and push-ins

Jamaat-e-Islami's Assistant Secretary General and 11-party unity coordinator AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad has questioned the Bangladesh government's stance on border killings and push-ins in international forums against India.
He said that questions have been raised in the public mind about why the government is not raising the issue at the United Nations. In his words, "Is the government keeping cotton in its ears or is it afraid to mention its brother-in-law's name"—he criticized the government's policy by making such comments.
Azad claimed that push-ins and killings on the border are violations of international human rights law, so an international complaint should have been made on this matter. But since the government did not take that path, questions are being raised about its diplomatic stance.
He also said that the border situation has been worrying for the country's sovereignty for a long time and Bangladesh will have to take a tougher stance on the behavior of neighboring countries.
At the press conference, he also criticized the government's border policy and foreign strategy and said that it is not acceptable to remain silent on important issues due to political relations.
Other leaders present at the time also expressed concern about the border situation and called for effective action by the government.
