New message in politics, freedom fighter Rafiqul Islam joins Jamaat

Bangladesh freedom fighter, prominent political figure and former general secretary of Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall of Dhaka University Md. Rafiqul Islam has officially joined the Jamaat-e-Islami. His joining has created new discussions in the political arena.
On Friday (December 26) at 4 pm, the joining ceremony was held at the central office of Jamaat-e-Islami in the capital in the presence of the party's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. At that time, Md. Rafiqul Islam officially joined Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami by filling out the primary associate member form of the organization. A post was published on the official Facebook page of Jamaat-e-Islami confirming the matter.
During the meeting, in the presence of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Md. Rafiqul Islam expressed deep confidence and satisfaction in the party's policies and ideals, patriotism and the steadfast stand of Jamaat-e-Islami in protecting the independence and sovereignty of the country. He said that working for the welfare of the country in the light of Islam and Islamic values is the main goal of his life.
At that time, he expressed his firm determination to dedicate the rest of his life to protecting Islam, the interests of the country and the independence and sovereignty. He also pledged to always maintain loyalty to the rules, principles, ideology, party discipline and leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami.
It is worth noting that Md. Rafiqul Islam's political and militant life is long and colorful. In the sixties, he joined politics as an active activist of the student movement. In addition to serving as a student leader of Haji Asmat College and Dhaka University, he also served as the elected drama and entertainment editor of DUCSU. During the great liberation war in 1971, he directly participated in various operations in Kuliarchar, Bhairab and Kishoreganj regions as a brave freedom fighter.
At the joining ceremony, Kishoreganj District Jamaat Ameer Professor Md. Ramzan Ali, Bhairab Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Kabir Hossain, and Bhairab Municipality Jamaat Ameer Shahjahan Sarkar, along with local and central leaders of the party, were present.
