Shamsuzzaman Dudu, vice chairman of BNP, said that there is doubt whether Bangladesh would have existed if Maulana Bhasani had not been born. He has been fighting for human rights without compromise against all injustice, lawlessness, oppression and torture.
He also said that BNP is supporting the government. BNP will not let this government fail. However, elections should be organized within a reasonable time after completing the necessary reforms. He also demanded the transfer of power to the elected people.
He said these things at the commemoration meeting organized by the district BNP at Santoshe Bhasani's shrine premises in Tangail on the occasion of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani's 48th death anniversary on Sunday, November 17.
Meanwhile, BNP's publicity secretary Sultan Salauddin Tuku said to the advisors, "Those who are in the government, but they did not come to Maulana Bhasani's death anniversary today, they will have to pay the price." BNP knows how to give respect to noble people. Sultan Salahuddin Tuku expressed his anger at the lack of advice from the interim government to pay tribute to Maulana Bhasani's death anniversary.
District BNP President Hasanuzzamil Shaheen presided over the commemoration meeting, BNP Chairperson's Special Assistant Samchur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Central Leader Ataur Rahman Dhali, Abul Kalam Azad, Obaidul Haque Nasir conducted the program, District BNP General Secretary Farhad Iqbal and others spoke.
