Upazila Nirbahi Officer gets power in place of absent Upazila Chairman Due to the recent situation, many Chairman in various Upazila Parishads are consistently absent from work and their presence cannot be confirmed even when contacted. In this situation, the full financial and administrative powers of the Upazila Parishad Chairman have been assigned temporarily until the concerned Upazila Executive Officer is re-instructed to continue all types of public services and administrative activities in those Upazila Parishads.
On August 14, the local government department issued an office order in this regard. It was informed that due to the recent situation, many chairmen in various upazila parishads are consistently absent from work and their presence cannot be confirmed even after contacting them, according to the sources of the concerned upazila parishad.
