Jamalpur Awami League leader Shahinuzzaman arrested from Uttara.

Police have arrested S.M. Shahinuzzaman Shahin—an independent candidate for the Jamalpur-2 (Islampur) constituency in the 12th National Parliamentary Election and a member of the Jamalpur District Awami League—from the capital's Uttara area.
Officers from the Uttara West Police Station arrested him on Sunday night (September 13) at an office in Sector 14 of Uttara.
S.M. Shahinuzzaman Shahin had contested the 2024 12th National Parliamentary Election as an independent candidate for the Jamalpur-2 (Islampur) seat, running under the 'Scissors' (Kanchi) symbol. He also serves as a member of the Jamalpur District Awami League.
Confirming the matter, Mirza Tareq Ahmed Beg, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Uttara Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), stated that S.M. Shahinuzzaman Shahin was arrested from Sector 14, Uttara.
He added that there is an abduction case filed against Shahinuzzaman at the Airport Police Station, and the arrest was made based on that case.
