Newly appointed Inspector General (IGP) of Bangladesh Police. Moinul Islam called upon the policemen to join their respective workplaces within 24 hours. Responding to his call, people of different classes and professions, leaders of political parties, students and the general public are giving all their support to the policemen who have left for the workplace so that the policemen can come to the workplace safely.
According to a small message from the police headquarters, the news that is being circulated about policemen facing obstacles on their way to work has not been found to be true. So everyone is requested not to get confused by rumours.
All police personnel have been directed to return to duty by the evening of August 8
New IGP. Moinul Islam
Earlier, after taking charge as IGP on Wednesday (August 7) in a press briefing, IGP instructed the policemen to return to the barracks. Moinul Islam said, I could not fulfill my duties as per the expectations of the countrymen, focusing on the logical movement of anti-discrimination students. Many people are angry because of this. Many are not in their respective units. We want to start anew to ensure the safety of people's lives and property. Therefore, everyone is being instructed to return to their respective workplaces within the next 24 hours, i.e. Thursday evening, August 8.
Admitting that there were operational errors in suppressing the student movement, the IGP said that many people including students and the police were killed. I am sorry as IGP for everything.
