Process underway to quickly bring back Benazir Ahmed: Home Minister

The Home Minister said that the government's efforts to bring back former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed are continuing. He said that the case documents and necessary information against Benazir have been sent to the authorities of the concerned country and it is expected that she will be able to be brought back to Bangladesh once the process is completed.
The Home Minister gave this information while talking to reporters after a program at the Secretariat on Saturday. He said that the matter is being taken forward through international cooperation and communication with the governments of the concerned countries is ongoing.
At the same time, he also spoke about the law and order situation in the country. Mentioning the government's strict stance in suppressing crime in various areas including Mohammadpur in the capital, he said that the drive against criminals will continue.
The Home Minister also mentioned that police members are being rewarded to recognize responsible and commendable work. He also said that security agencies have been instructed to be vigilant around various political programs.
