Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has foiled 8 separate push-ins by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at various borders of the country in the last 24 hours. These infiltration attempts were foiled by strengthening border security and maintaining a strict stance.
The BGB said that any push-in that goes against international border management and bilateral agreements is not acceptable. The organization is on the highest alert to protect the country's borders.
According to information provided by the BGB, three people were stopped from entering Bangladesh at the Jadavpur border in the Maheshpur Battalion (58 BGB) area of Jhenaidah. Later, they returned to Indian territory.
An attempt to smuggle 17 people into Bangladesh in the Naogaon Battalion (16 BGB) area was immediately prevented.
In addition, 21 people were pushed in at the Barakhata and Paishattibari borders under Teesta Battalion (61 BGB). Another 11 people were pushed in at the Dighaltari and Durgapur borders by Lalmonirhat Battalion (15 BGB).
When 10 people were tried to be brought in at the Barakhata Pradhanpara border by Nilphamari Battalion (56 BGB), the BGB took immediate action. A flag meeting was held at the company commander level between BGB and BSF in this incident.
Meanwhile, 16-17 people who had been gathered in advance in the Assam area of India opposite the Kachugarh border of Netrokona Battalion (31 BGB) were evacuated. BGB has further strengthened surveillance in the relevant areas.
BGB said that they will continue to take a strict stance to protect the country's sovereignty and border security and no one will be allowed to cross the border illegally.
