3 more deaths in dengue fever, 331 people admitted to hospital in a day

The dengue situation in the country has become worrying again. Three more people have died due to Aedes mosquito-borne dengue fever in the last 24 hours. At the same time, 331 new dengue patients have been admitted to various hospitals in the country. This information was given in a regular press release sent by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Saturday (July 25).
The release said that among the 331 patients who have been admitted to hospitals in the last 24 hours, 132 are in Barisal division (outside the City Corporation), 30 in Chittagong division (outside the City Corporation), 73 in Dhaka division (outside the City Corporation), 28 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 47 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 3 in Mymensingh division (outside the City Corporation) and 18 in Khulna division (outside the City Corporation).
In the last 24 hours, 275 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals. With this, a total of 17,693 patients have recovered and left the hospital this year.
According to the Department of Health, the total number of dengue cases in the country from January 1 to July 26 has reached 19,120. Of the infected, 58.6 percent are men and 41.4 percent are women.
Meanwhile, a total of 73 people have died of dengue this year, including three new deaths. The Department of Health has urged the public to increase public awareness and take necessary measures to prevent dengue.
