Milestone Tragedy: Government to bear medical expenses of injured, directs private hospitals to provide free services

The government has decided to bear the medical expenses of those injured in the tragic accident at Milestone School and College in the capital. In addition, the Directorate General of Health Services has directed all private hospitals in the country to provide free medical services to those injured in the accident.
In a press release on Monday (July 21), Director (Hospitals and Clinics) of the Directorate General of Health Services Dr. Moinul Ahsan gave this information. The release said, “All private hospitals in the country are being instructed to provide completely free treatment to patients injured in the Milestone accident.”
In addition, if there is incapacity in any private hospital, it has been advised to transfer the patients to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery or Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The concerned expressed hope that this directive will ensure quick and necessary medical services to the injured.
