Consensus Commission meeting with political parties in the afternoon, Professor Yunus to speak!

The first meeting of the National Consensus Commission will be held at the Foreign Service Academy on Bailey Road in the capital today, Saturday, February 15, in the afternoon. Representatives of political parties will participate in this meeting led by Professor Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor to the interim government. The meeting will continue from 3 pm to 5:30 pm.
It is learned that Professor Yunus, the chief advisor to the commission, will speak at the meeting.
BNP sources said that a six-member delegation led by their party's Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will participate in the meeting. Similarly, Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna will also participate in the meeting, he said that he has already received an invitation to participate in the meeting.
Prothom Alo learned that various political parties and organizations have already received an invitation to participate in this meeting and sent the names of their representatives. According to government sources, all the parties with whom discussions were held earlier will participate in this meeting.
The National Consensus Commission is starting discussions with political parties for the first time, and these meetings will continue continuously. The commission was formed as part of the work of the recently held six reform commissions, which will focus on the country's political situation and constitutional reforms.
It is noteworthy that at a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy on February 10, the commission's press secretary, Shafiqul Alam, announced that dialogue with political parties will begin from February 15, with the aim of achieving political consensus.
This meeting is being held with the aim of ending differences between political parties and will be attended by government officials, political leaders and experts.
