Students are on a sit-in strike demanding that the Ministry of Education issue a letter and conduct specific educational activities for the National University On-Campus Honors Program.
On Tuesday, students protesting in front of the main gate of the National University in Gazipur continued to protest by taking a stand.
Meanwhile, since morning, the university's teachers, officials and employees have been unable to enter the university due to the protest by blocking the main gate of the university.
Upon receiving the information, police and law enforcement officers arrived at the scene to talk to the students. The students were protesting by blocking the main gate of the National University until 10 am when the last news was received.
The protesting students said that the National University authorities have not taken any action so far regarding the On-Campus Honors Admission Circular for the 2024-25 session and are spreading various types of propaganda about the admission circular of the third batch of honors. Even though a long time has passed since the VC's assurance to withdraw the letter issued against the interests of the students sent by the Ministry of Education, no effective action has been taken till date. Therefore, a clear announcement must be made immediately to accept their demands.
