Nature lovers are enthralled by the shapla blossoming on hundreds of acres of land at Basile in Tangail. The flower of red beetroot blooms so it is known as red beetroot bill. People from different parts of the world rush to enjoy the beauty of Red Shapla before the sun rises. However, as there is no boat in the bill, the visitors have to suffer.
Blooming flowers indicate the arrival of autumn after monsoon in nature. However, there is still a hint of monsoon softness in nature. In the water of the canals and rivers, there are molluscs. In the light mist of the autumn morning, the sun's rays fall on the green leaves of the rose and the dew on the red petals glistens like pearls. Neetu Khan and Mim Hasan of Tangail's Kumudini Government College rushed to witness such a wonderful aesthetic moment.
Neetu Khan said, "I came to Shapla Bill with my girlfriends early in the morning from Tangail city. It's nice to come. I didn't know that we have such a beautiful Shapla bill in Tangail too. See photos and videos of Shapla Jheel from different parts of the country on social media. I would not have believed that we have such a beautiful Shapla bill in Tangail.
Mim Hasan said, "I saw my girlfriends coming here. So I couldn't handle myself anymore. I went for a walk with my brother in the morning. I came and took pictures. It was very nice. All around only red shapla. This is a wonderful beauty. The mind is stuck in the magic of Shapla flower.
But not only the red Shaplai, but the white Shaplai is also attractive. Frogs are floating head high in the gaps of green leaves, flight of grasshoppers is fluttering in the air. These companions of nature have increased the pleasure of the visitors in many ways. Therefore, the traffic of visitors is increasing day by day on the newly-acclaimed Lal Shapla bill.
Sabbir Hossain came to visit with his wife. He said, "I wanted to take a picture with Lal Shapla for a long time. Today I fulfilled my wish. In the morning, the red bees stand with their heads high, it looks very beautiful. The reign of the red bee made the mind happy.”
Fahima Khatun, a college student, said, "I have never seen such a red bee." I came with my girlfriends. Thousands of red flowers bloomed. Nature is dressed differently. It looks very nice. I have to cry and take pictures. If there is a boat system there will be more visitors.”
But not only enjoying the beauty, this red beet has also become a source of livelihood for marginalized people. 10,000 to 15,000 rupees of saluk are extracted from here every day. Shapla collector Majeda Begum said, "When the water comes, we pick these Shapla and sell them. I run the family well for a few days. The few days that water is there, I can earn good money.
Locals hope that if a suitable environment for tourism including boats is created in the coming season, employment opportunities for many people can be created based on this Shapla Bill.
