Pakistani cargo plane with five crew members missing in Arabian Sea

A cargo plane flying from the United Arab Emirates to Karachi, Pakistan, has gone missing in the Arabian Sea. The Pakistan Airports Authority said that there were five crew members on board.

According to Pakistani authorities, the K-2 Airways Boeing 737-400 cargo plane departed from Sharjah for Karachi. En route, contact with the plane was lost while it was in the Arabian Sea, about 300 kilometers west of Karachi.

Citing radar data, authorities said that the plane was seen losing altitude rapidly at around 9:21 pm local time on Tuesday. At the same time, a sudden change in the plane's trajectory was also observed. Then, the plane went out of radar about 155 nautical miles west of Karachi.

Search and rescue operations were launched in the sea area immediately after the incident. Multiple agencies are working together to identify the location of the missing plane.

However, there is no confirmed information yet on the cause of the plane's disappearance. Authorities have not officially released the identities of the five missing crew members.
