Israelis take to the streets to protest against Netanyahu

A new wave of protests has begun against the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Hundreds of protesters gathered in the capital, Tel Aviv, demanding the establishment of an independent commission to investigate the security failures surrounding the October 7, 2023 attacks.
The protesters alleged that the government has not yet taken any effective steps to ensure an impartial investigation into the events that took place before and after the attacks. According to them, only a state investigation commission free from political influence is capable of uncovering the real truth.
Speakers at the rally said that the government's proposed investigation framework does not ensure sufficient independence and impartiality. As a result, it will be difficult to gain the public's trust.
Relatives of those killed and hostages in the attack also participated in the program. They demanded a full investigation into the incident and determination of responsibility. Many believe that the weakness of the security system and policy mistakes have led to such a huge humanitarian disaster.
Meanwhile, during the rally, when tensions arose between pro-government and anti-government groups, the police intervened to control the situation. Later, when the situation calmed down, the program ended normally.
Analysts say Israel's internal politics are heating up amid war, security crises and political divisions. The differences in positions between the government and the opposition on the issue of forming an investigation commission could create new political pressure in the coming days.
