Birthright Citizenship Controversy: Savage's Comments on China-India Criticized

American radio host Michael Savage has made controversial comments calling for a change to the US birthright citizenship law.
In a speech, he alleged that people from countries like China and India are taking advantage of the law by coming to the United States late in pregnancy and giving birth, thereby granting the children 'instant' US citizenship.
Savage said that the current legal system allows immigrants to abuse the law by coming to the United States in the ninth month of pregnancy. According to him, this has created a 'loophole' through which it is easier to bring the family to the United States after the child has obtained citizenship.
The comments were broadcast on The Savage Nation, a program aired on Newsmax. It was later reposted by an account called 'Commentary Donald J. Trump Posts from Truth Social', which shares former President Donald Trump's social media posts.
Analysts say the issue of birthright citizenship has long been a contentious issue in the United States. Critics say such comments could further divide immigration policy.
