Trump warns of new attack on Iran

US President Donald Trump has threatened to launch new attacks on Iran's critical infrastructure. After a recent attack, he indicated that the country's power plants could be the next target.
In a post on social media on Thursday (April 2), Trump said that there is still a lot to be destroyed in Iran. According to him, bridges and then power plants could be the targets of the attack. He also said that the Iranian leadership is aware of the situation and they should make decisions quickly.
Earlier, in a televised speech, Trump warned that the conflict could intensify if the US conditions were not met. In that case, he mentioned that Iran's energy and oil-based infrastructure could also be targeted.
However, international law experts have expressed concern about such statements. According to them, attacks on facilities important to civilians violate international humanitarian law.
Experts reminded that according to the Geneva Conventions, it is mandatory to maintain a clear distinction between military and civilian installations in war and that attacks on civilian infrastructure are prohibited.
Trump also said in his speech that more severe attacks on Iran could be carried out in the coming weeks. Although he claimed that the United States was close to achieving its goals, he did not specify a specific time frame for ending the war.
The conflict began with a joint US-Israeli attack in late February. Since then, tensions have been rising across the Middle East in retaliation, and its impact has also begun to affect the global economy.
