Uganda threatens to go to war on behalf of Israel: New tension over comments to ‘blow up’ Iran

Amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, a new explosive comment has come from the African country of Uganda, which has increased further concern in the international arena. The country’s army chief, Muhuzi Kinerugaba, has publicly declared that if Israel faces defeat, Uganda will directly participate in the war and fight on their behalf.
In a post on the social media X on Wednesday, he said that even if the world wants an end to the war in the Middle East, they will not remain silent if there is an attempt to destroy Israel. According to him, Uganda will go to war if necessary, take Israel’s side and deal with the adversary harshly.
This statement comes at a time when tensions are high around Iran, Israel and the United States. The recent attacks and counterattacks have increased instability throughout the region, the impact of which is gradually spreading to global politics.
Notably, General Kinerugaba is not just a military officer, he is the son of the country's President Yoweri Museveni. As a result, many see his comments as not just a personal opinion, but also a reflection of the position of the Ugandan power center.
He recently came into the spotlight for another reason—he announced plans to erect a statue in memory of Israeli commando Yonatan Netanyahu, who was killed in the 1976 Entebbe operation. This incident is also considered another indication of his public support for Israel.
According to analysts, such statements could further internationalize the conflict in the Middle East. Iran-Israel tensions have already reached a peak with drone and missile attacks. In addition, such a direct position of foreign countries could further complicate the situation.
