Nepal's ousted Prime Minister's public statement - "I will not run away from the country"

Bhaktapur, (Date as per Date) - Nepal's ousted Prime Minister and CPN-UML (Communist Party of Nepal — UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has made it clear in public that he will not run away from the country's future. Oli was forced to resign earlier this month under pressure from the Zen-Ji movement; but 18 days later, appearing at a rally of the party's youth wing in Gundu area of ​​Bhaktapur, he demanded, "Do you think we will leave the country in the hands of this baseless government and run away? No way."

In his speech, Oli told party leaders and workers, "We will build this country. We will bring the country back to constitutional order, restore peace and good governance."

Oli's public speech was his first major party rally speech 18 days after leaving his official residence. In it, he brought up his experiences during the agitation-complexity period, security problems and direct allegations against the current government. Oli said that he was under the protection of the army for 9 days. Later, on September 18, he moved to a rented house. On the other hand, on September 9, the protesters burned down his personal residence in Balakot, Bhaktapur—an incident that has created additional concern and controversy.

Focusing on the incident at that time, Oli said that he was not involved in any conspiracy and if there is any record of the instructions he gave to the administration and security forces during the agitation, he is challenging the current government to publish it. He also alleged that the location of his new residence was known to everyone—yet the current administration has not ensured proper security. He mentioned, “It is being said on social media, ‘Find Oli’s new house and attack it.’ What is the government doing? "They are just sitting and watching."

Oli said the government led by the current Prime Minister Sushila Karki lacks public support — he described it as a government "formed through looting, vandalism and arson." By saying this, he condemned the government's violations and tried to convey a significant message to the public.

Another important demand of the speech was: Nepal demands a transparent and independent investigation into the deaths during the movement. Oli said that if necessary, he could take the demand for that investigation to the international level — although he did not directly name any international organization. He also called on the party's leaders and activists to remain firmly united and also spoke of strengthening the organization at the local level in a new way.

Analysts believe that this announcement will trigger a multi-dimensional reaction in political thought — because the UML under Oli's leadership has long been an important political force in Nepal; its return or activation could have a major impact on the political map.
