Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has urged the countrymen to be mentally prepared. According to him, the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan could turn into a war in the next two to three days. In an interview with the British news agency Reuters, he said, "Indian military attack is imminent," - after this comment, concern spread throughout Pakistan.

Later, when two influential Pakistani media outlets, Geo News and Samaa TV, contacted him, he said, "The next two to three days are very important. If something really happens or starts, it will happen within this time. And if it does not, then we have to assume that we have escaped a big danger."

In an interview with Samaa TV, he also said, "The fear of a war in this region is now strong. Everyone has to be mentally prepared. Because the situation can change quickly."

This tension began after the terrible terrorist attack on April 22. On that day, the Resistance Front, an affiliate of the Kashmiri militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba, attacked tourists in the Baisaran grasslands of Pehalgaon district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.
At least 26 tourists, all male, were killed in the attack, which was carried out with automatic rifles. Many more were injured. According to analysts, it was the deadliest attack in Jammu and Kashmir since the Pulwama attack in 2019.

After this incident, India took various diplomatic and security measures, directly blaming Pakistan. The suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, increased military deployment on the border, and the exchange of diplomatic messages further increased the level of tension. In response, Pakistan also threatened to close its land and airspace and warned its army.

For the past three days, the Indian and Pakistani armies have been exchanging fire on the Kashmir border. Local sources have reported that there have already been casualties on both sides.

In this context, the warning by Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has further fueled fears of war. The people of both countries and the international community are now waiting like a hawk to see how the situation will turn.
