Heat in Benapole egg market, no one to watch

Sharsha Upazila Benapole of Jessore is once again a volatile egg market. On the pretext of supply shortage, the price of the daily essential food product is being increased step by step. Small farmers, corporate institutions and big traders are blaming each other as the reason for the price increase. Although the government fixed the price to control the price, the market is not matching the price of eggs.
In the last one week, wholesale and retail prices of eggs have increased from Tk 10 to Tk 15 per dozen. Wholesale egg traders say that most of the eggs are supplied to the country's market from Jessore's Afil Layer Farm and Jhikargacha Bismillah Dimghar and Chand Agro. Supply is from Jessore but controls the market. They informed the upazila businessmen how much they will sell the eggs. Accordingly the market is regulated. On the other hand, Benapole Municipality consumers say that the egg market has been increasing for a long time. Even after the administration's campaign, the egg market is not coming under control.
It has been found that, currently, 100 pieces of eggs are being sold at wholesale for 1 thousand 280 taka. That is, the price of each piece of egg is 12 taka 66 paisa. About 152 ntaka per dozen. Meanwhile, those eggs were sold at 168 taka per dozen in the retail market yesterday. Price per piece is 14 rupees. That is, each piece of egg is being sold at a higher price of 1 taka 34 paisa compared to wholesale.
A wholesale egg trader in Benapole Bazar area said, Jessore and Jhikargacha traders informed us the price of eggs to be sold via SMS. We sell eggs at that price. On the other hand, the retail traders also increased the prices in search of the wholesale market.
Talking to the buyer Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, he said, 15 days ago we were buying eggs at 11-12 taka. Now the shopkeepers are charging 14 taka 50 paisa for eggs. They say that there is a shortage of eggs in the market, so the price of eggs is high.
Retail egg sellers Abdus Salam and Hafizur Rahman said, we bring and sell eggs as needed from the wholesale market. The increase in the price of eggs in the wholesale market has nothing to do with the increase in the price of eggs in the retail market.
