Srabanti Chatterjee, a popular actress in Indian Bengali cinema, is always in the news for her personal life. Being a mother at a young age, her relationship with her son Abhimanyu (Jhinuk) is particularly close. The age gap between Srabanti and her son is only 16 years, which arouses the curiosity of many.
Durga Puja is just around the corner, and after a long 10 years, Srabanti’s film ‘Devi Chaudhurani’ is being released during the Puja season. On this occasion, in an interview with an Indian media outlet, the actress revealed how her son’s friends call her.
Srabanti said, “My son’s friends are my friends too! Except for one or two, no one calls me ‘Auntie’, everyone is ‘Didi’ to me.”
She also said that she has also noticed a difference in work with the new generation of her son’s age. “I can easily understand their language and awareness when I mix with my son and his friends. Social media wasn’t so popular before. I want to tell newcomers that if the first job doesn’t go well, you have to focus on the next one, it’s not right to spoil your mind about anything else.”
Srabanti mentioned that her ex-husband Rajiv Biswas once came to the premiere of her movie. In this regard, she said, “Oops! He didn’t say that. Jhinuk and I laughed a lot. Jhinuk even told his father (Rajiv Biswas), ‘Where will my mother go!’”
In response to the question of whether Jhinuk gets annoyed with criticism or trolls, Srabanti said, “My son is far away from arguments, trolls, everything. He is not on Facebook, he just enjoys watching funny reel videos on Instagram, that’s all.”
Srabanti’s personal life has been through quite a few ups and downs. She got married to director Rajiv Biswas in 2003, and they have a son, Abhimanyu. Later, she married Krishan Viraj and Roshan, but her third marriage also broke up this year.
Srabanti's life and experiences prove to the audience that besides being a celebrity, the life of a mother and an ordinary woman can also be challenging, but she always prioritizes her own and her son's happiness.
