Srabanti is getting a ticket from Mamata's party Trinamool Congress!

There has been a lot of discussion about the possibility of Tollywood actress Srabanti Chatterjee's return to politics. On July 21, she was present at the public meeting organized by Trinamool Congress on the occasion of Martyrs' Day at Shaheed Mancha in Kolkata. From sitting on the stage to her name being mentioned in party leader Mamata Banerjee's speech - all this has created new curiosity in the inner circle of politics.
The question is being raised around this incident - is Srabanti returning to the voting field again? According to rumors, she may be a candidate on a Trinamool Congress ticket from Behala West constituency. It is worth noting that she contested the 2021 assembly elections from this constituency as a BJP candidate. However, she was defeated by Trinamool heavyweight candidate Partha Chatterjee.
Since that election, Srabanti started increasing her distance from the BJP. She gradually withdrew from the party and officially announced her resignation on social media. After that, she kept herself away from politics for a long time. However, her active presence on the stage of Shaheed Diwas this time has once again brought her to the center of political discussion.
Since Partha Chatterjee's arrest, Behala West has become practically leaderless. There is growing anger among the common people due to the lack of development and public service. In such a situation, the Trinamool Congress wants to give a new message - and Srabanti's name is coming to the forefront as that new face.
Speaking to the media at Shaheed Mancha, Srabanti said, "Being by the side of the people is the real worship. I want to be by their side as much as I can. And if it is Behala West, then in my own place." Her statement opens the door to new possibilities.
There are differences of opinion on this within the Trinamool inner circle. Although some have already expressed their support for her, the final decision has not been made yet. Councilor Sajal Ghosh commented, “I am her fan. We need such a vibrant person in the assembly.” On the other hand, party spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, “It is completely the party’s decision. Whatever happens, it will be done after discussing it with the party leader.”
Srabanti herself has also realized the reality. She said, “Politics is not that simple. You have to learn how to be with the people, how to work.” This shows her mature political thinking and sense of responsibility.
All in all, if the Trinamool Congress fields Srabanti, it will be a bold and strategic decision. Although her political experience is limited, she is far ahead in terms of popularity, public relations and charisma. Now it remains to be seen how much Trinamool can transform this stardom into political power.
