Spanish woman filmmaker Isabel Erguera has made an animation movie based on 'Sultana's Dream' or 'Sultana's Dream' written by Begum Rokeya, the pioneer of Bengali women's awakening. The movie will be released in Spain on November 17.
The film is titled 'El Suenio de la Sultana'. Length 1 hour 20 minutes. His partner Gianmarco Serra co-wrote the screenplay with director Isabel Erguera.
Producer Isabelle said in a press release:
I went to Delhi in 2012. One day I took shelter in an art gallery amid heavy rain. There I found Sultan's Dream book. A book written long ago. It has imagined a different world of women! I was surprised to read the book. I decide that day - I will make a movie about it.'
Isabel has come to India several times for film work. Organized workshops with women from different places there. The maker wants to know from them, how relevant is the content of that book written more than 100 years ago. Apart from this, he has consulted famous painters from all over the world
