Teacher arrested for raping madrasa student in Boda

Police have arrested a teacher named Delwar Hossain (23) on charges of raping an eighth-grade student at a Qawmi madrasa in Boda upazila of Panchagarh. The victim's father filed a case with Boda police station on Sunday (November 9) as the plaintiff in this incident.
According to the case source, Hafez Delwar Hossain, a teacher at Siddiqiya Darul Uloom Madrasa located in Islambagh area of the upazila's municipal headquarters, had been raping the student several times for the past three months by intimidating and threatening him in various ways.
According to local sources, teacher Delwar called him to his room in the madrasa's residential building at around 10:30 pm last Saturday (November 8) and raped the student again. After the incident, the victim started crying and other students came to the notice of the matter. Later, when the student informed his family, they immediately came to the madrasa and arrested the accused teacher and informed the police with the help of locals.
Upon receiving the information, Boda police station reached the spot, arrested Delwar Hossain and took him to the police station.
The arrested Delwar Hossain is the son of the deceased Mansur Ali of Bhanor village in Baliadangi upazila of Thakurgaon district. He had been working as a teacher in the Najera department at Islambagh Siddiqia Darul Uloom Madrasa for about a year.
Boda police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azim Uddin confirmed the incident and said,
"The father of the victim student has filed a case as a plaintiff. The accused teacher has been sent to jail through the court."
Police said that Delwar Hossain confessed to the crime during initial interrogation.
Local guardians and the general public expressed anger over the incident and demanded exemplary punishment for the culprit.
