Young man dies in mob lynching in Lalbagh

A young man named Md. Taufiqul Islam alias Killer Babu (26) was killed in a mob lynching in the Shahidnagar Lohar Bridge area of Lalbagh in the capital at midnight. He was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 8:15 am on Sunday (August 17) and was declared dead by doctors.
Warrant Officer Md. Abdul Nesar of Azimpur Army Camp said that Taufiqul was lynched in the Shahidnagar Lohar Bridge area of Lalbagh at around 3:30 am on Saturday. The agitated crowd later informed the Azimpur Army Camp. He was rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The body has been kept at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. The matter has been reported to Lalbagh Police Station.
