A 29-second video of former parliamentarian Shamim Osman and his associates firing on protesters demanding quota reform in Narayanganj has gone viral on social media. The video went viral yesterday (Saturday).

Meanwhile, on July 19, a 6-year-old child, Riya Gop, was shot in the head while playing on the roof of a four-storey house in Naimati area of ​​the city. Later he died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. It has been alleged that Riya Gop was shot dead by Shamim Osman and his accomplices.

According to district administration sources, Shamim and his son Ayan and their follower Shah Nizam have arms licenses.

In this regard, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Amir Khosru said, the video has come to our notice. Necessary action will be taken if illegal use of licensed legal weapons is found. When asked about the death of child Riya Gop, he said that there was no policeman in that area that day. Riya Gop's death is under investigation.
