More than two hundred people from different classes and professions, including BNP, joined Jamaat-e-Islami by holding Akhtaruzzaman's hand

In Kishoreganj's Katiadi, former BNP MP, freedom fighter and recently joined Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Major (Retd.) Akhtaruzzaman Ranjan, joined Jamaat-e-Islami by holding the hand of Major (Retd.) Akhtaruzzaman Ranjan.

The joining program was held at Major Ranjan's house in Durgapur village of Chandpur union of Katiadi upazila from Friday (January 23) afternoon to 7:30 pm. At that time, in the presence of Major Akhtaruzzaman, the joinees filled out the associate member form of Jamaat and officially became members.

It is learned that on December 13, former MP and freedom fighter Major (Retd.) Akhtaruzzaman Ranjan met with Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. Since then, he has been playing an active role in organizational activities, including giving speeches and participating in various programs and events of Jamaat in Dhaka, including at the local level.

He also participated in the election campaign on behalf of the 10-party unity alliance candidate nominated by Jamaat in Kishoreganj-2 (Katiadi-Pakundia) constituency. Last Thursday, he gave an important speech at an election rally organized on behalf of the Jamaat-e-Islami candidate in Dhaka-11 constituency.

He has also been playing an active role in getting leaders, activists and supporters to join Jamaat-e-Islami in his own area. Responding to his call, more than two hundred people, including BNP and civil society representatives, various professionals, businessmen, former UP members and two followers of Sanatan Dharma, joined Jamaat-e-Islami from different areas of Katiadi Upazila.

In this regard, the valiant freedom fighter Major (Retd.) Akhtaruzzaman Ranjan said that he joined Jamaat-e-Islami with the aim of establishing ideology-based politics for the welfare of the country and the people. He further said that he is working sincerely for the Jamaat's nominated candidate in the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections.

Major Ranjan said that honest and ideology-based leadership is needed to take the country forward on the right path. He has taken this decision with that aim in mind and is also calling on the people to do the same. Many people have already responded to his call and joined Jamaat-e-Islami.

Leaders of various levels of Jamaat-e-Islami's Sahasram-Dhuldia and Chandpur Unions were present at the time. Major Ranjan said that InshaAllah this joining program will continue tomorrow afternoon as well.
