International Migrants Day and Expatriates Day celebrated in Tetulia

On the occasion of International Migrants Day and National Expatriates Day in Tetulia, Panchagarh, a colorful procession took out in front of the Tetulia Auditorium on Thursday, December 18. The day was celebrated with the theme 'We will take our skills abroad, we will build our homeland with remittances'.
On this occasion, a colorful procession took out in front of the Tetulia Upazila Parishad at 10:30 am today. The procession ended at the same place after circumambulating the main roads of the city. Later, a discussion meeting was held at the Tetulia Auditorium. Tetulia Upazila Executive Officer Afroz Shahin Khasru presided over the discussion meeting.
The speakers at the meeting said that expatriates are playing an important role in keeping the country's economy running. In recent times, the flow of remittances sent by expatriates to the country has increased greatly. We must go abroad legally and send money to the country through legal channels. The public should be aware of this and create public opinion.
The speakers also said that they should go abroad after acquiring the necessary skills. Only then will appropriate remuneration be ensured and remittances will also increase. The government has expanded training opportunities for people willing to go abroad through various departments including TTC.
Tetulia, ICT Officer Nabiul Karim Sarkar, Tetulia Women's Affairs Officer Karun Kanta Roy, Tetulia Tetulia Upazila Agriculture Officer Sabrina Afrin, Tetulia Upazila NCP leader Md. Harjot Ali, Tetulia Jamaat leader Md. Jahangir Alam, among others, were present at that time.
